The Waldport Library has been serving the Waldport area since 1919 and is housed in the renovated old City Hall building at 460 Hemlock (Highway 34), near the intersection of Highway 101 and 34. The current collection includes over 24,000 titles in print and AV. Additionally, the Library provides access to electronic resources from its website and extends its collection through participation in the Chinook Library Network.
The Library enjoys the support of a dedicated group of paid staff and volunteers. The activities of the Library are overseen by the Council-appointed Library Board of Trustees, which usually meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 9:30 a.m. The current members on the Library Board include: Jan Hansen, Shirley Hanes, Barbara Smith-Huggins, Brian Fodness, and Gary Hodges . The Friends of the Waldport Library actively support the Library by holding booksales and other events, and have contributed greatly to the facility over the years.
